Relief for overcrowded Kilmarnock school as two new classrooms in pipeline

Kilmarnock to cope with rising pupil numbers.The decision was made after reports of overcrowding in corridors and Annanhill Primary pupils feeling unsafe using secondary school toilets.It is hoped they will be open by the end of the year and councillors approved the plan at an East Ayrshire Council cabinet meeting on Wednesday.Speaking at the meeting, council leader Douglas Reid (SNP) said: "This will be welcomed by all three schools."We are aware the pressure is on to find a solution.
