Quinta Brunson has been asked a lot about her ABC series having an episode about a school shooting. Following the tragic shooting this week in Uvalde, Texas that claimed the lives of 21 people, the 32-year-old actress, writer and creator of Abbott Elementary opened up about the subject appearing on the sitcom. Click inside to read more… “Wild how many people have asked for a school shooting episode of the show I write,” Quinta started her series of tweets on the platform on Wednesday, May 25. “People are that deeply removed from demanding more from the politicians they’ve elected and are instead demanding ‘entertainment.’” She then squashed any possibility of that happening: “I can’t ask ‘are yall ok’ anymore because the answer is ‘no.’” Quinta continued, saying that fans should channel their energy into asking elected officials to “get on Beto time and nothing less,” referring to Beto O’Rourke. “I’m begging you,” she added. “I don’t want to sound mean, but I want people to understand the flaw in asking for something like this.
We’re not okay. This country is rotting our brains. I’m sad about it.” Abbott Elementary, which was renewed for season two at the beginning of the year, broke a huge record for ABC.
