Queen Elizabeth will be reunited with her late husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, following her funeral on Monday (September 19).
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which sits inside sits inside St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, following an intimate ceremony on Monday evening.
When the Duke of Edinburgh died 17 months ago, his coffin was interred in the Royal Vault of St George’s. He will be moved to the memorial chapel alongside the Queen after her state funeral on Monday morning. The “deeply personal” private burial service will see the two reunited in a service conducted by the Dean of Windsor, which will start at around 7:30pm.
