The 96 year old monarch's appearances in Scotland over the last couple of days marks her first public engagement since she appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace on the fourth day of celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee at the start of the month.
She has been scaling back many of her public appearances, citing "mobility issues", and her step back has seen the other senior royals such as Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton representing her at many royal engagements.
So it was great to see The Queen beaming as she visited Scotland, which is a place she is very fond of, and of course, it is where the royals' holiday home, Balmoral Castle can be found. The Queen is known to favour brightly coloured outfits, and she was a vision in a lilac coat dress and matching hat as she smiled and waved to crowds, helped by the aid of a walking stick.
Yesterday she also greeted adoring crowds in Scotland and was photographed dressed in a light blue coat with a matching hat that featured purple flowers on the front.
