Ashley Rison, 31, an employee at New Miami High School, is facing five years in jail after pleading guilty Wednesday to sexual battery and gross sexual imposition in response to allegations she had sex with a 17-year-old student, WXIX-TV reported.

A homeless woman who allegedly robbed a dead man in New York City and has dozens of prior arrests was freed without bail Friday, according to reports.  Geniece Draper, 40, was let go after her arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom, the New York Post reported. She is accused of pickpocketing a wallet from a man last week as he remained under a truck that had crushed him moments earlier.  She is charged with grand and petty larceny for allegedly stealing from 62-year-old Jerome Smith. She was arrested a short time later at a Times Square subway station.

Police in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, found "multiple objects in the water that appear to be human remains" in the Deep Fork River Friday amid a days-long search for four missing cyclists, authorities said. Mark Chastain, 32; Billy Chastain, 30; Mike Sparks, 32; and Alex Stevens, 29, of Okmulgee, were reported missing Monday evening. Mark Chastain's wife, Jessica, and Alex Stevens' mother reported their disappearances.

The suspect in the Connecticut ambush that resulted in the deaths of two Bristol Police officers was friends on Facebook with one of the victims.  Nicholas Brutcher's list of friends on the social media platform includes fallen officer Alex Hamzy, who appeared to go by Alex Yzmah on Facebook.  Hamzy, 34, was killed in the line of duty Wednesday night.  Bristol Police Chief Brian Gould said in a news conference that Hamzy, who was raised in the city, graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 2006. Two robbery suspects were shot and killed by a jewelry store owner during a robbery attempt inside a Florida shopping mall, and two other suspects are being sought, police said.  The robbery occurred at the Magic Mall in Orlando when four suspects robbed a jewelry booth with at least one of them armed, the Orlando Police Department told Fox News. "The store owner shot at the suspects," police said in a statement.

An Indiana mother was reportedly sentenced to 115 years in prison earlier this month for poisoning her ex-boyfriend's oatmeal and strangling him during a custody battle.  Following a seven-day trial, Heidi Marie Littlefield was found guilty of murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in August by a jury in Hamilton County. The Hamilton County prosecutor said Francis Kelley had been killed by asphyxiation last year due to manual strangulation or neck compression, with acute fentanyl intoxication listed as a contributing factor in his death.

The Biden administration’s plan to hand out up to $20,000 in individual student debt relief will rely on a brief self-certification form, according to a preview of the application webpage released to reporters on Tuesday.  The application, which White House officials said will go live later this month, requires applicants to list their name, social security number, date of birth, phone number and email. College students organized a protest in response to their university’s nomination of a sole finalist for president of the school.The University of Florida announced on October 6 that Senator Ben Sasse, R-Neb, was unanimously nominated to be the only contender to serve as the 13th president of the public institution.Sasse, who has served the state of Nebraska since 2015, is expected to resign his Senate seat in December and start his new job at the university in February, should the nomination go through.  He was on campus on October 10 for multiple public forums with students, faculty, and staff. New York police reportedly launched a strike force after the shooting outside of Rep. Lee Zeldin’s home.  Speaking to reporters near the home of the Republican candidate for governor, Suffolk Police Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison said he is putting the strike force together for the Shirley area.  "I’m always concerned about retaliation, so putting this strike force together and grabbing officers throughout the county and kind of flooding them in a certain community is our M.O.," Harrison on Monday, according to Newsday.

Local New York City officials said Tuesday on "Fox & Friends First" they're concerned about Staten Island schools seeing an "unsustainable" influx of migrant children by next week.  Travis Civic Association President Gene Guerra said the school in his neighborhood is already "overflowing" and he's unsure if the principal would be able to accept more students. The Department of Defense sent a survey to service members last month asking dozens of questions about race relations and equity, along with a range of new questions about the "estimated prevalence of exposure to extremist activity in the military." According to a draft of the Workplace and Equal Opportunity survey obtained by Fox News Digital, the Pentagon wants to know whether "racist/extremist organizations or individuals" are a problem both where they work and in the community around their duty station.They also want to know if service members "know how to report experiences of extremist activity." In a different section, service members are asked if they witnessed or worked with anyone who showed "support for an organization, ideology, or hate group that promotes violence, discrimination, or other illegal acts." The survey asked about different examples of support, such as attending a rally, trying to recruit people, or openly advocating "illegal acts of violence or terrorism." It asked service members to check off which ideology or goals were being expressed, a list that includes anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim, White supremacy, sex and gender identity discrimination, and anti-U.S. government sentiment.

A train hit a car on Chicago's far South Side on Sunday afternoon. A spokesperson for Metra, which operates the train, said that outbound Rock Island train #113 crashed into a car at West 111th Street near Marshfield Avenue, according to FOX 32.

Hundreds are suing the federal government after 20,000 gallons of jet fuel leaked into the water on a Hawaii naval base beginning last year, causing debilitating illnesses in families living nearby in an incident some are comparing to Camp Lejeune. The suspect accused of killing his roommate at Purdue University claimed he had been "blackmailed" on Friday during his first court appearance.  In a video, speaking to reporters, 22-year-old Ji Min "Jimmy" Sha said he was "very sorry" when asked if he had a message for the family of the victim, 20-year-old Varun Manish Chheda.  Sha is facing a preliminary charge of murder.  According to court documents, he was granted a 72-hour continuance in his case inside the Tippecanoe County Jail’s magistrate court.  Fox 59 said that while court documents filed against Sha Friday give more insight into the death of Chheda, they provide little insight into his motive. Ji Min Sha, 22, was identified as the suspect by Purdue Police Chief Lesley Wiete during a press conference.

A police K9 and a possible murder suspect are dead after a chase in Georgia ended with a shootout in the woods on Friday. The deadly confrontation began just before noon along River Road near Interstate 285 when Clayton County police spotted a car associated with a murder investigation, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. Georgia State Patrol and the Clayton County Sheriff's Office were called to assist with an attempted stop.

Convicted felon Anna Sorokin was freed Friday after 17 months in detention and was headed back to New York City, where she'll remain on house arrest as her deportation case winds through immigration court, according to her spokesman.
