Kick-off in Scotland Women's clash with Israel at Hampden has been delayed after a protestor tied himself to a goalpost on the pitch.Pro-Palestine supporters descended on the national stadium in Glasgow hours before the game, despite the SFA already deciding to play the EURO 2025 qualifier behind closed doors.
However, those measures failed to prevent an individual wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the message "Red Card for Israel" from finding his way onto the Hampden turf. The protestor then chained himself onto one of the goalposts, and was only later removed from the ground after police and ground staff intervened.
As a result, kick-off in the crucial qualifier for next year's tournament has had to be pushed back. Pedro Martinez Losa's side have made a positive start in their campaign to reach the finals in Switzerland, collecting four points from their first two matches after following up a 0-0 draw away to Serbia with a 1-0 win against Slovakia last month.Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond. You can also follow our dedicated Rangers and Celtic podcast pages and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season.
