Prison 'likely' for Lanarkshire man caught with child abuse images

A Stonehouse man has been warned prison is "very likely" after he was caught with thousands of child abuse photos and videos.Sean Coyle arrived home from work to find police officers searching his home for incriminating evidence.Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that 2,333 photos were found on two phones and an iPad belonging to him.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

More than half of those were in the most serious category.The material had been downloaded over a three-year period.Police officers found that the images showed boys and girls, with some thought to be as young as six-months-old.Coyle, 31, admitted downloading and possessing indecent images of children at his home in Todstable Gardens, Stonehouse.Chloe O'Hara, prosecuting, said police officers went there around 7am on February 1 last year.She told the court: "They were met by the accused's partner who advised them that Coyle would be returning from work shortly."Officers told her the reason for their visit and a search was conducted.

This was paused when the accused returned from work at 7.45am."He was cautioned and admitted there was 'questionable' material on one of his phones."Coyle has no previous convictions and
