Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (born Rachel Meghan Markle; August 4, 1981) is an American member of the British royal family and former actress. Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California and has a mixed ethnic heritage. During her studies at Northwestern University, she began playing small roles in television series and films. From 2011 to 2017, she played Rachel Zane on the American legal drama Suits. Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth was born in London, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home. Her father ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. Princess of Wales' nod to the Queen as she holds hands with daughter at state funeral while Meghan Markle also pays tribute

The Princess of Wales' used her appearance at the Queen's state funeral to pay a subtle tribute to her late grandmother-in-law.

Catherine, who was given the title last held by her husband's mother Dianna following King Charles' succession to the throne, attended Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday (September 19).

Prince George and Princess Charlotte walked in between their parents behind the Queen’s coffin as part of a solemn procession through Westminster Abbey.

Ahead of the service, Kate could be seen holding Charlotte’s hand, and giving her a reassuring touch on the shoulder. As the young royals walked behind their great-grandmother’s coffin, Charlotte held her hands clasped in front of her while George had his arms by his side.
