Prince William joined his father King Charles to make a surprise visit to the mourners lining up to pay respects to Queen Elizabeth during the lying-in-state. William greeted people during a walkabout on Saturday afternoon (September 17) outside Westminster Hall in London, England.

The Telegraph reports that William told spectators that it was “quite emotional” to see the amount of people who were lining up to pay respects.

The line has been miles long and the wait time has exceeded 24 hours.
