Prince Philip is expected to have a royal ceremonial funeral with military procession. It was announced on Friday that the Duke of Edinburgh has died at the age of 99, as the Queen paid tribute to her “beloved” husband.
Prince Philip had previously insisted for no “fuss” to be made when he passes away. A service is expected to take place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and flags will fly at half-mast in Britain. The Duke of Edinburgh will not lie in state and there won’t be a state funeral.
Exact details of the funeral are unclear amid Covid restrictions. It is expected that the coffin will be at rest at the chapel in Windsor before being moved to Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in London.
