The ceremonial royal service will see his love of the sea and long association with the Royal Navy take centre stage during the Order of Service - which has now been released by Buckingham Palace.

In keeping with the Duke of Edinburgh’s wishes, a sermon won't be delivered. And no members of the Royal Family will read lessons or give readings, while there will be no eulogy.

Music chosen by the duke includes the hymn “Eternal Father, Strong to Save”, which is traditionally associated with the maritime armed services.
