Portugal travel rules change as Foreign Office issues update

The UK Foreign Office has issued an update for any holidaymakers planning on going to Portugal. In an attempt to boost the country's tourism again after multiple lockdowns, Portugal dropped a number of its Covid restrictions earlier this year.

This meant that people no longer needed to be vaccinated to visit, provide proof of a negative lateral flow test, or complete a passenger locator form for entry to mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores.Liverpool Echo reports that a few restrictions remained in place regarding the use of face masks in public places.

However, many of these have been scrapped in mainland Portugal and the Azores.
