Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Portugal manager Fernando Santos has suggested he will not drop Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench. Ronaldo, 37, has started just one Premier League game against Brentford this season with Erik ten Hag preferring to play Marcus Rashford down the middle.
Ronaldo has been limited appearances from off the bench and a total of 207 league minutes. The centre-forward scored 24 goals in all competitions last season and he was United's leading goalscorer by some distance, but he expressed it was his desire to leave Old Trafford in the summer and he's lost his starting place after remaining at the club. Ronaldo had three or four chances. Two very good ones, which he usually scores. He didn't score. It's football," Santos told reporters during his post-match press conference on Tuesday night. "This is the second time we've conceded a goal right at the end [after the Serbia defeat].
