Police scour water and banks of river in Aberdeen to find missing sisters

A major search is underway to trace two missing sisters who went missing from Aberdeen earlier this week.Police were seen scouring the water and the banks of the River Dee this morning near the Queen Elizabeth Bridge in the city.

A helicopter was also spotted circling the river in a bid to find Eliza and Henrietta Huszti.The 32-year-olds were reported missing from the city centre earlier in the week.

The pair were seen in CCTV footage near the river early on Tuesday morning.The last sighting of Eliza and Henrietta was on CCTV in Market Street at Victoria Bridge, at around 2.12am on Tuesday, January 7.

They crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath along the River Dee, walking in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.A police statement issued on Thursday announced that enquiries were ongoing, with specialist resources and search advisors involved in tracing the sisters.Earlier today, a heavy police presence was spotted close to the river.
