Police have issued an update into the crash that killed three young people in south Wales as the investigation continues. Eve Smith, 21, Darcy Ross, 21, and Rafel Jeanne, 24, died in the incident which took place on the A48(M) near the St Mellons area of the city in the early hours of Saturday March 4.

Passengers Sophie Russon, 20, and Shane Loughlin, 32, remain in the University Hospital of Wales receiving treatment. Police have now confirmed the crash happened at 2.03am when the white Volkswagen Tiguan they were travelling in left the carriageway and crashed into a wooded area. "They also want to speak to anyone who was travelling in this area and may have seen the Volkswagen Tiguan. "The appeal is for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle and there is no suggestion that another vehicle was involved in the collision." Assistant Chief Constable Jason Davies of South Wales Police said: "The investigation is making good progress in piecing together the events leading up to the collision.
