Police car smashes into wall while pursuing vehicle in Aberdeen as man arrested

A police car smashed into a wall as it pursued a vehicle in Aberdeen on Saturday evening. Officers were pursing a vehicle that was travelling on North Deeside Road in Peterculter after it failed to stop when signalled, around 7.45pm last night.

While responding to the incident the police vehicle was involved in a collision with a wall, near the junction with North Deeside Road and Malcolm Road.Neither of the officers in the car were injured.The vehicle they were pursuing was subsequently traced and a 32-year-old man has been charged with various road traffic offences.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers became aware of a vehicle travelling on North Deeside Road in Peterculter which subsequently failed to stop when signalled shortly after 7.45pm on Saturday, 7 August. “The vehicle was subsequently traced and a 32-year-old man has been charged with various road traffic offences.
