Plea for Falkirk people to help care for children seeking asylum in the UK

People in Falkirk are being urged to help to look after children and young people who have made the long dangerous journey to the UK to seek asylum with no parents or family to protect them.

The unaccompanied asylum seeking children have risked their lives to escape countries such as Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan.

They could be fleeing war, famine, poverty or abuse. They may have seen adults in their lives tortured or murdered, or they may have been forced to fight as a child soldier.

Most of them are aged 16 or 17, although they can be younger - and they are all extremely vulnerable.
