Plane forced to return to Scots airport after mid-air emergency declared

A plane has been forced to return to a Scots airport after a mid-air emergency. The Loganair flight to Norwich was turned around and sent back to Aberdeen Airport after setting off earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

The aircraft left Aberdeen at 2.25pm and was supposed to arrive at Norwich Airport at 3.40pm. The plane was carrying 27 passengers and three crew, and was flying south over the North Sea when it came back north and returned to Aberdeen to be met by emergency services at the transport hub.It is unclear at this time the nature of the emergency.An Aberdeen Airport spokesman confirmed the plane touched down before 3.30pm.A spokesperson for Loganair said: “Following an alert on flight LM016 from Aberdeen to Norwich earlier today, the
