Pilot instructor said man accused of drowning his wife told him she had died in her sleep, jury hears

Sale were on holiday in a 'remote' part of Denmark. Prosecutors allege he drowned Ms Leeson in a swimming pool in a rented holiday cottage, in the town of Norre Nobel in June 2017.

They claim Mr McPherson 'stood to gain a vast fortune' from his wife's death, after taking out joint life insurance policies worth about £3 million.

During the third day of the Manchester Crown Court trial, jurors heard from Joseph Ennis-Cole, a pilot who became a friend of Mr McPherson as he gave him flying lessons.
