Piers Morgan has backed calls for Margaret Ferrier to be thrown in jail after details of her coronavirus breaches emerged. The Good Morning Britain presenter clashed with top human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson QC on today’s episode of the popular ITV show.
Robertson described Ferrier as ‘one of the best and brightest MPs’ in the House of Commons as the lawyer moved to defend the disgraced politician.
The pair were involved in a debate over the appropriate punishment for people who break the coronavirus legislation while citing Ferrier’s situation.Piers went on to describe the shamed MP as a “blithering idiot” and a “political hooligan”, as he called for tough sanctions to be imposed.He said: "It was a serious breach of every guideline.
