Perth City of Culture 2025 bid in the pipeline with a 'Tay Cities Region' grouping

Perth is having another stab at being named the UK’s City of Culture, but in the bid for 2025, the Fair City will not pitch alone, instead making a joint application as part of the Tay Cities Region (TCR).

Disappointment hit Perth last time around in 2017, with the city giving way to Paisley as Scotland’s hope. Coventry eventually got the title, UK City of Culture 2021.

But a new application effort based around the four reaches of the River Tay is being beefed up, with hopes to win £40K of funding to help it fly.
