Paisley footballer was Renfrew captain last season before snapping his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.After suffering what he expects to be the same injury in the opposite knee as he battled his way back to full fitness, Borris decided to retire with his body unable to keep up with his desire to return to competitive action.And while the 38-year-old has a host of memories most players at semi-professional level can only dream of, he revealed that hasn’t made it any easier to say goodbye to his days of stepping onto the pitch to play.“There was no two ways about it, I had to retire,” Borris explained to Express Sport. “I’ve had bad issues with my knees the last two seasons.“I’ve been at Renfrew for four years.
