Work set to begin on new 117-home housing development
Wigan borough, next month.Plans to build 117 homes in the 'quiet and tranquil' village of Lowton were approved in December 2019, despite objections from more than 70 local residents.Lancashire-based housebuilding company Redrow has now acquired 13 acres of land, ahead of the planned construction of Oakwood Fields - as it is set to be known.The land is based just to the north of Bainbridge Avenue and the plans include a mix of three and four-bedroom homes, with open plan layouts.Claire Jarvis, managing director for Redrow Lancashire, said: "Our new site in Lowton is a great location for home buyers, situated a similar distance to both of the major northern hubs of Liverpool and Manchester."It will deliver over 100 new homes, the first of
