Magdalena Bay: Celebs Rumors

This Friday, electro-pop duo Magdalena Bay will drop off Mercurial World Deluxe, an expanded edition of their great 2021 album. The deluxe was first teased with “All You Do,” an orchestral soft-rock number released in August with a hook fit for a Bond film. The latest cut, “Unconditional,” takes the opposite tack: funky, fluorescent mall-pop for the future is the vibe on the new track.

Shygirl, Bar Italia, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Joy (Anonymous) and more have been announced as performers for Iceland Airwaves 2024.The festival will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and will take place from November 7 through 9 in downtown Reykjavik. Other acts set to perform at the music fest include Saya Gray, Magdalena Bay, Anish Kumar, Inspector Spacetime, Úlfur Úlfur, Klemens Hannigan and more.“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating not only 25 years of Iceland Airwaves, but 25 years of playing a key part in the careers of some of the world’s most talented artists,” said Ísleifur Þórhallsson, Festival Manager for Iceland Airwaves in a Press release.He continued: “Over the years we have seen many of our Airwaves alumni grow from strength to strength, often developing into some of the industry’s most acclaimed artists.

Pitchfork has announced the lineup for the 2022 edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival. Mitski, The Roots, and The National will headline the three-day concert taking place July 15-17 in Chicago's Union Park.

Over the past four years LA-based duo Magdalena Bay have released a wave of great singles and EPs, slowly establishing their unique and intelligent take on pop in the streaming era. Their DIY approach has never stopped Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin from competing with the genre’s big-hitters on a musical level, with 2020 EP A Little Rhythm and a Wicked Feeling channeling slick hooks and turn of the century aesthetics into euphoric new shapes.
