South Yorkshire to enter Tier 3 as mayor confirms £41million deal
South Yorkshire will join Greater Manchester in Tier 3 of the government's local lockdown system, the Mayor of the Sheffield City Region has confirmed this morning.Dan Jarvis said that: "Following extensive discussions with ministers, local council leaders and I have agreed with Government that South Yorkshire will move into Tier 3, the 'very high' alert level for coronavirus restrictions."He said the curbs, which will cover around 1.4million people in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield will come into force on at one minute past midnight in the early hours of Saturday morning.As well as pubs which don't serve food, betting shops, adult gaming centres, casinos and soft play centres will be ordered to close.Gyms will be able to
