childcare following her move to Scotland.Janice McAleese was given a suspended sentence last year after admitting misconduct in public office while heading up the Northern Ireland Events Company.The NIEC folded shortly after her resignation in 2007, leaving taxpayers to settle debts of £1.6million.The 56-year-old was chief executive of the company, which used public money to promote events, when she committed the offences between 2004 and 2006. She was given a two-year sentence, suspended for three years, at Belfast Crown Court after admitting arranging payments of approximately £330,000 to be made to Damien Fleming/Schism Ltd.
