It has since been warned that it could close next year without support.While the government launched a £1.57 billion rescue package for the arts, the venue is ineligible for an emergency grant and has instead been advised to apply for a loan, which it will only receive in December.Craig Hassall, CEO of the Royal Albert Hall, said: “Six months on from enforced closure, and circa £18m down in lost income, we are not eligible for any of the Government’s emergency grants.
