This legislation will bring corporate radio broadcasters up-to-speed with all other music streaming platforms, which already pay artists for their music.”

Earlier in the week on Monday the secretary of state and attorney general had sent a joint cease and desist order to the state Republican Party along with letters to state GOP offices in Orange, Los Angeles, Fresno and other jurisdictions where the unauthorized boxes had appeared. Many of those boxes had been labeled “official.”

President Trump on Tuesday directed Republicans to “fight hard” in court after California’s top election and law enforcement officials, both Democrats, ordered the state GOP to remove unofficial ballot boxes from various locations in three counties or face prosecution.   “You mean only Democrats are allowed to do this? But haven’t the Dems been doing this for years? See you in court.

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla on Wednesday said that the number of vote-by-mail ballots that have been returned has already well-exceeded the number of ballots returned at this same point in the 2016 presidential election. “As of this morning, over 1.5 million vote-by-mail ballots have already been returned by California voters,” Padilla wrote in a statement.

The California Republican Party responded Monday to criticism over unofficial ballot drop-off boxes in counties with highly competitive U.S. House races, arguing that state law allows “ballot harvesting,” while also slamming a $35 million contract the state’s top election official awarded to a “Team Biden” public relations firm.
