A Scots councillor is urging residents in Ayr to stop setting off fireworks as the community continues to recover from a devastating house explosion.
Chris Cullen, an SNP representative for Ayr East, has called out the “highly insensitive” actions after the pyrotechnics were let off near Kincaidston on Sunday night.
Posting on social media, he said: “I’m receiving reports of people letting fireworks off in the vicinity of Kincaidston. “Given the recent incident, this is highly insensitive and I would politely ask you to refrain from setting off fireworks and causing more upset.”The community is still reeling from a major explosion which saw dozens of homes damaged or destroyed in the Gorse Park area of the town last Monday.A
