Pensioner embroiled in car parking war "caught in act" scratching £80,000 Mercedes - without realising owner was sat in driving seat

A pensioner has been ordered to pay damages after carving a scratch into a Mercedes as the driver was still sat in the driving seat.

Thomas Brockbank, 68, accused Douglas Pinder of scratching his vehicle while he was manoeuvring his car to get close to a hairdressers where he was picking up his wife.

At Manchester Civil Justice Centre on Bridge Street West, Mr Brockbank said he often takes his wife Shelagh, 70, to Kevella Hairdressers on Bury Old, Rd in Whitefield.
