Comedian and all-round TV legend Paul O’Grady sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 67. The broadcaster, who gained popularity back in the 1990s with his drag Queen persona Lily Savage, was also a famous animal advocate, and dedicated much of his life to charity work.
So much so, that in 2016, he was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Animal Welfare award at the RSPCA's Animal Hero Awards.
So, as we remember the iconic TV host, let’s look back at his lifelong love for animals, and the astounding contributions he made… Once an animal lover always an animal lover Growing up, Paul was surrounded by animals, and was known to have kept hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, a ferret and rats as pets as a child.
