Paul O'Grady fans have rushed to show him support after he confirmed he had suffered a sad loss while on tour. The TV and radio star is currently travelling up and down the country as he plays Miss Hannigan in the touring stage version of Annie.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, animal-loved Paul shared how one of his pigs, Tom Tom, had been put to sleep while he had been away for the week in Newcastle as part of his role in the musical.

The 67-year-old shared a video of his beloved animal in his sty alongside some of his other pigs. Paul wrote alongside the sweet video: "Got back from a week in Newcastle playing Miss Hannigan in Annie to find that Tom Tom, one of my pigs had been put to sleep.

I knew it was coming as he’d been diagnosed with a tumour but even so it’s awful when you lose a pet." Paul then rounded off his post by adding: "On a lighter note I’m thoroughly enjoying playing Hannigan again after so long, especially with a truly amazing and lovely cast.
