Paul has been hit with a two-game SFA ban for blasting referee John Beaton as “inept” after last month's Premier Sports Cup Final defeat to Celtic.

McGinn went in front of disciplinary beaks at Hampden this afternoon after being hit with a notice of complaint for his furious blast at the whistler over the Hoops winning goal.

He will now miss Hibs ’ return to Premiership action against Celtic on Monday as well as the Scottish Cup clash with Cove Rangers three days later.

The Easter Road full-back claimed the free kick from which Kyogo Furuhashi scored the Hoops’ cup final winner should never have been awarded - and then said his team mates were led to believe a sub was about to be made because fourth official Greg Aitken was holding up the substitution board before the Hoops took a quick free kick.
