Two cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant have been identified in the UK, according to the Health Secretary. Later today (Saturday), Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a press conference with Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance.
It comes after Sajid Javid revealed that individuals and their households are self-isolating after one case was found in Brentwood, Essex, and a second one in Nottingham.
It was originally reported that case was found in Chelmsford, however this has since been corrected by Essex County Council.
