Registered and student nurses can go behind the walls of HMP Shotts later this month to discover the unique job opportunities on offer there.The careers event with a difference at the Lanarkshire prison is aimed at registered nurses and nursing students who are in the final year of their studies.The event will provide them with the chance to visit the health centre at the jail and learn about multi-disciplinary teams working in prison healthcare.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

I enjoy working with all my different colleagues and the people we work with in the prison.“Typical day can consist of administering medication, triaging and assisting patients, and working in nurse-led clinics.“I would recommend the job as it’s an exciting and varied role where you gain lots of experience.
