North Lanarkshire to install enlarged litter bins

New enlarged litter bins are being installed in communities across North Lanarkshire over the next eight weeks, replacing multiple smaller bins all over the local authority area.

The programme to place the 240 and 360 litre bins began this week in the Coatbridge areas of Kirkshaws, Kirkwood, Langloan, Old Monkland and neighbouring Bargeddie.Council officials say the new facilities will “significantly increase overall capacity” compared to the smaller bins which often overflow and need more frequent emptying, and will allow more efficient collection by bin lorry crews in line with the area’s existing refuse schedules.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
