Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said a change to operating patterns across the network would be put in place, with bus replacement services also scheduled for the weekend.

Ian Davies, TfGM’s Interim Network Director for Metrolink, said: “These works are a vitally important part of maintaining a safe and reliable network for all our customers. “The work has been scheduled to minimise disruption to passengers and residents as much as possible – including keeping noise levels to a minimum. “Replacement bus services will operate across the weekend, so people can still get to and from their intended destinations and I’d encourage passengers to plan journeys and leave plenty of time to reach events over the weekend.
