The 21-year-old had been previously been on the Ibrox radar in the summer when Gio van Bronckhorst and sporting director Ross Wilson were coming up with alternative options should Glen Kamara leave the club, with OSG Nice circling on the final day of the window.
In the end a move failed to materialise but reports in Belgium suggest Rangers are weighing up a bid for the Belgium U21 international as he approaches the final six months of his Standard deal.
A move away from Ronny Deila 's side appears to be gathering pace with Serie A side Spezia and Belgian rivals Club Brugge also credited with an interest in the January window.
