Nicola Sturgeon has wished the Scotland team well against Ukraine in their World Cup qualifying semi-final at Hampden tonight.

The First Minister sent her good luck message to Steve Clarke's men ahead of the crunch match in the Southside of Glasgow. The pair were due to meet back in March but after Vladimir Putin ordered his troops into Ukraine the decision was taken by Fifa to postpone the game until June.

Scotland fans will be hoping to cheer skipper Andy Robertson and his team on to a sensational victory - while at the same time realising that much of the rest of the world will want to see a Ukraine victory to provide some cheer to the Eastern European nation more than three months on from the Russian invasion. The winner of the game tonight will head to Cardiff on Sunday, June 5, with the winner heading to Qatar for the World Cup in November and December.Whoever comes out on top will be in the group stages with England, Iran and the United States.

Ahead of First Minister's Questions at Holyrood, Sturgeon told the BBC : "I'll be there tonight supporting Scotland. "I want Scotland to win.
