Nicola Sturgeon has tested negative for Covid as she urged people in the southside of Glasgow to get checked for the virus. The First Minister and Glasgow Southside MSP posted a picture of her negative lateral flow test in a bid to get her constituents to take their own.It comes as the Pollokshields and Battlefield areas of the city have become hotspots for the virus - with experts fearing that recent infections are being driven by the so-called India variant.

Figures released by Public Health Scotland show that Glasgow’s seven-day positivity rate is more than three times higher than the national average.
