Nicola Sturgeon announces 13 coronavirus deaths in Scotland as 1351 new cases recorded

coronavirus in Scotland overnight, the First Minister has announced. Speaking at her daily briefing, Nicola Sturgeon said the death toll now stands at 2,585 since the start of the pandemic.

Some 1,351 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since March to 44,036.

Scots hospital 's are currently treating 601 patients for Covid-19 with 51 in intensive care. The First Minister yesterday joined police in warning football fans not to travel outside the central belt to watch the Celtic v Rangers game at the weekend.

She advised: “If you were thinking about going to Blackpool and haven’t booked please do not go.“Please do not travel to Blackpool this weekend to see the Old Firm.
