UK’s leading fraud prevention service has highlighted the latest scams and issued a warning to the public about staying vigilant to the ever-changing tactics criminals are using to dupe them into handing over money and personal information.
Cifas is urging Scots to be aware of new scams involving Marks and Spencer, Netflix and Covid-19 vaccine bookings. Cifas has heard reports of fraudsters offering shopping vouchers for Marks and Spencer on Facebook.
The fraud was initially detected through a fake social media post offering free items worth £40 on the ‘M&S Shop’ Facebook group which has more than 30,000 followers.
