Netflix to Expand New Mexico Production Hub With $1 Billion Investment

Netflix is doubling down on New Mexico as home for production. The streamer plans to boost its presence in the state by expandingABQ Studios — which it acquired in 2018as a central production hub — and committing to an additional $1 billion in production spend.

In thepast two years, Netflix has spent more than $200 million in the state, used more than 2,000 production vendors and hired over 1,600 cast and crewmembers.

Since 2018, Netflix productions filmed in New Mexico include Army of the Dead, El Camino, Godless, Daybreak, Chambers and Messiah.

The platform is currently in production in the state on the filmsThe Harder They Fall andIntrusion and isexpected to soon begin filming Stranger Thingsseason four in Albuquerque.
