Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Neil Lennon and Derek McInnes also among the bookies frontrunners. Salford - owned by Manchester United legends including Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes - are hunting for their FIFTH manager in six months after Gary Bowyer confirmed he is returning to Derby County following his temporary spell in charge of the League 2 outfit.
Neil, who was axed by Preston North End last month, is 4/1 to take on the role while recent Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett is in the running alongside Salford's development squad manager, Warren Joyce, with the pair priced at 6/1.
But Lennon - who left Celtic in February after a disastrous season - is a dark horse to return to management with The Ammies at 14/1.
