National award for young people's mental health service in South Lanarkshire

A mental health service for young people in South Lanarkshire has won the National Youth Work Award in Health & Well-Being 2022.GOTO, developed by Lanarkshire charities Regenfx and Liber8, is the first service of its kind in Scotland, bringing together qualified youth workers trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and dedicated counsellors to provide intensive support and wraparound packages for young people who are struggling with their mental health."This award means a lot to everyone involved in taking the original risk to do mental health support services differently for young people.

Using a combination of youth work and supportive counselling under one project, we have discovered faster ways to support young people and prevent the escalation of poor mental health,” said Wendy McInally, Regenfx Youth Trust manager.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
