Scotland defender Nathan Patterson lapped up the Everton celebrations as they guaranteed their English Premier League survival.
The right-back has endured a torrid time since leaving Rangers in January for Merseyside. After signing for Rafa Benitez, the Spaniard was quickly replaced by Frank Lampard following the 20-year-old's arrival south of the border.
He has made just one appearance under Lampard against Boreham Wood in the FA Cup, during which he was subbed at half-time. Patterson then picked up an ankle knock last month and had to go under the knife, with the Everton boss unable to put a timeline on his return to the team.
However, there was some relief for Patterson as he watched his Toffees teammates secure their spot in the English top flight on a dramatic night at Goodison Park.Everton came from behind to secure a 3-2 win that sparked a pitch invasion from celebrating fans.Patterson joined in the post match party with fans on the park as he lapped up a sea of blood on social media.He shared a clip to his Instagram of the scenes with the message "UTFT (Up the Toffees).Patterson will be desperate to return to fitness with Scotland's crucial World Cup playoff against Ukraine just around the corner.
