Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Namibia | High Court refuses to recognise foreign same-sex unions
mambaonline.comThe Namibia High Court says that while it supports recognising same-sex unions it does not have the legal power to change the law. On Thursday, a three-panel bench of the court reluctantly dismissed two applications relating to the denial of immigration rights to the non-Namibian same-sex spouses of two Namibians.
The couples had entered valid legal partnerships outside of Namibia, but their relationships were not recognised for immigration purposes because they are in same-sex partnerships.
The country does not offer any legal recognition of same-sex relationships. Daniel Digashu and Johan Potgieter approached the High Court in 2017 ater the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration denied Digashu (a South African citizen) a work permit based on their same-sex marital status.
Similarly, Namibian born Anette Seiler-Lilles and German-born Anita Seiler-Lilles approached the High Court of Namibia after Anita was denied permanent residence on the grounds of their marital status.
