The heartbroken mums of two girls who were savagely filmed while their bullies beat them have backed calls for social media firms to take action over violent clips shared on their platforms.Angela Jarvis, from Glasgow, and Vicky Donald, from Fife, have united in response to the Record's Our Kids, Our Future campaign to demand tech giants take a firm stance against posting footage that involves youth violence.
Their two daughters, Abbie Jarvis, 13, and Kaylynn Donald, 12, were both victims of horrific attacks that were recorded and circulated online.
Abbie was hospitalised for two days after she was lured into a Glasgow skatepark and battered unconscious on Oct 4 2022.The schoolgirl was left needing glue in her head after the assault, which was filmed and uploaded online.
Just three weeks later, Kaylynn was recorded while she suffered multiple blows to her head and body during a beating on a bus on her way home from school in Ladybank, Fife, on October 25 2022.Sickening footage of the attack on Kaylynn was also uploaded online.
