A young woman has been left unable to to walk, talk or even eat without assistance after suffering a huge brain haemorrhage while on holiday with her boyfriend.

Molly Loyd, 22, required three emergency surgeries to stop a brain bleed and has been in hospital since May. Mum Jenny Lloyd described the past four months as a "living nightmare", with doctors still not sure if Molly will be able to fully recover.

After experiencing a sudden seizure when she was 19, Molly was diagnosed with a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a mass of abnormal and under-developed blood vessels, which significantly increased her chances of suffering a severe brain bleed later in life.

In an attempt to address the issue, doctors tried various treatments, but none were ultimately successful. Now after suffering from a haemorrhage, Molly faces an uncertain future.
