The last thing you want to do is hand clean silverware when you have an appliance that's supposed to make the job hassle free.Luckily, Mrs Hinch fans have shared a simple trick to guarantee that your knives and forks will come out of the dishwasher rust-free and it requires no extra washing - all you need is some tinfoil.
Rust occurs when acidic substances, including water, make contact with metal or steel surfaces - so the dishwasher offers the perfect conditions for the auburn reaction.Scrubbing enthusiasts revealed their go to method after one member of the Mrs Hinch cleaning tips Facebook group looked for advice.
Sharing a snap of a knife dotted with rust marks, a woman asked: "What can I do with my knives? A few of them come out of the dishwasher like this."The majority of comments on the post recommended rolling lumps of tinfoil into small balls and placing them in the dishwasher's cutlery compartment.
